Ritual Review

It’s the beginning of a new year, and that means it’s time to make goals that we will inevitably loose sight of by February. A new year also means a barrage of advertisements of lifestyle products and services to help you achieve that “new year new me” thing. One of the latest life-improving offerings is Ritual. The clear-capsuled multivitamins marketed by bare-faced beauties is straight up sexy. There is something so gravitational about these ads, and on one of my many wine induced pandemic nights, I started my subscription. That was in June of 2020, and I am here with a (roughly) 7 month review. I would like to mention that I have been offered a sponsorship with Ritual. In the interest of providing a truly unbiased review, I declined the offer. Now with the housekeeping out of the way, let’s talk expensive vitamins!

What is Ritual?

Ritual is a monthly multivitamin subscription company who has positioned themselves based on their ingredient transparency and eco-friendliness. With formulations for women (general, prenatal, and 50+), men, and children. Not going to lie, this brand really seems to be going for trendiness, which isn’t hard to see with one of their ads or visiting their website. Ritual’s messaging targets the lifestyle buzzwords that makes everyone feel like less of a shit bag. Here are all of the badges of honor they wear:

  • Traceable Nutrients

  • Vegan Friendly

  • Gluten and Major Allergen Free

  • Non-GMO

  • No Artificial Colorants or Synthetic Fillers'

  • Recycled Packaging

My Experience

I really enjoy these little vitamins, but I am trying to figure out exactly why. A multivitamin isn’t a new concept, but somehow I like taking these more than ordinary vitamins. Perhaps it’s the modern bottle, or the futuristic little capsules, or maybe that they taste like mint. It’s likely a combination of all of those things, but I find that I am more likely to make a routine of taking my vitamins when I actually like the experience of taking my vitamins. Now, I can’t attest to the effectiveness of Ritual vitamins, but who really could? After taking Ritual for about 7 months, I have been trying to decide if I would recommend them or not. Do I love them and think they are a great product? Yes. Do I think it’s worth paying $30 a month for vitamins? No.

Although I love Ritual, I have cancelled my subscription, simply because I don’t want to spend $30 a month on multivitamins (and I’m a girl who will splash some cash for good shit). But if you are looking for a great multivitamin at any cost, I couldn’t have a higher recommendation than Ritual. It’s an absolute delight to take those two little lava lamp pills first thing in the morning. It’s minty, easy to swallow pills made all of my other crazy pills go down smoothly, and I loved knowing that I had started a healthy daily regimen for myself.
