February Wallpaper of the Month

February, hello gorgeous! This year, Feb 1 landed on quite the moment in time. A New Moon, the Lunar New Year, and Black History Month. I am always writing, but needless to say that this is a time begging for some written reflections. For me, this looks like pulling out this one binder that I take with me everywhere, and start working with writing prompts.

After sharing this practice with several people in my inner circles, who, are now feeling profoundly connected to their minds and hearts, it occurred to me that most people don’t have a written practice. February feels like the time to share.

Here’s how this works: you read the prompt, and you answer it. REVOLUTIONARY lol.

But actually, for those of you who don’t have a writing practice, writing in a personal narrative can be challenging. Please, please, please lean into the uncomfy of it, it’s temporary. My biggest suggestion is to tell yourself that this is not for the eyes of others. This isn’t about writing well. This is about identifying our intuition, and assigning language to our freeform and chaotic minds. This is exciting, healing, and wholesome, all at the same time. Happy February, and happy writing :)

Writing Prompts

  • What is on my mind right now?

  • What do I need to get off my chest today?

  • What do I need to hear right now? How can I uplift myself?

  • What advice do I need to give to myself right now? What answer am I seeking?

  • What feels like a struggle right now?

  • What do I want to accomplish today/tomorrow? Why is that important to me?

  • What has been going well lately?

  • As of today, what is my vision for my life in the next 3 years?

  • What are my greatest strengths?

  • When I’m telling my grandkids about what I did in my lifetime, what would I be telling them?

  • What stresses me out?

  • Why does this bring me stress?

  • What makes life feel complicated?

  • What doubts do I currently have?

  • Are those doubts factually true, or are they fear-based and irrational?

  • What thoughts have I been repeating in my head lately? Are they true?

  • How do I show up for others?

  • How do I show up for myself?

  • How can I show up for myself and others better?

  • What can I do to nurture my mind, body, and soul more?

  • What does living an intentional life mean to me?

  • What would my perfect day look like? What would I be doing?

  • What brings me the most joy?

  • What does my typical day look like? How can I bring more joy into it?

I realize this level of introspection may be either elementary or incredibly advanced for you. Nonetheless, written reflections, when done with vulnerability and self-certainty, can be some of the most interconnecting inner-work you can do. February demands this work to me, and I hope you enjoy the process of self-discovery.
