May Wallpaper of the Month

Shoe fantasy, Anscochrome, by Bert Stern, 1957.jpg

It has been really hard to write. Everything I normally like to talk about feels so tone deaf to the world we are in, and I have been completely uninspired by this moment. It’s these low points, where I am grateful to this series. The Wallpaper of the Month has served many purposes. It has given each month a fresh pair eyes, and a calling to continue writing during uninspired times. And here I am again, lunged back into the saddle because and for this series. It feels good, and I am grateful for it.

Wow, hello May. Is all of 2020 going to be this bad? I don’t need to recount the discord, you get the picture. Times still uncertain, we all sit an wait anxiously for the time where there is some semblance of recovery, normalcy, hope. This month’s wallpaper is inspired by how we are all feeling right now, but an ode to our companions during isolation, the earth and our animals. My little Reuben saves me every single day, and taking him outside is what brings me perspective and joy. This 1950s woman is all of us right now, clinging to the only thing we know won’t change, gravity. Grab that grass girl, we are in for another month! Take care, and I’ll see you back here soon.
