November Wallpaper of the Month
I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t tempted to choose a smoky, ominous image of the Statue of Liberty for November’s Wallpaper. Needless to say, we all know the intense, consequential nature of this November’s election. Instead, I have chosen an image that more accurately reflects what this November will look like. A haunting Thanksgiving table set for those who, in different times, would accompany us. Because they would have been safer, more protected by the hands of better leadership.
As many of us go to the polls tomorrow, think about how much longer you can withstand these conditions. Separation from family, friends, our communities, our work. Seeing hundreds of thousands of fellow Americans dying at the hands of criminal negligence. Under the same leadership, we will squabble, flail, and flounder to regain a droplet of what once was. Four more years with this leadership will mean American’s feet will be tied with anchors to be inevitably thrown into the ocean. Or, we can turn to proven effective, compassionate leadership to pull us out of gaping the water that swallows us. Giving us the best chance at a great American revival. So we can go about our days and holidays in togetherness, at tables like the one pictured, and begin restoring the moral fabric of this country.
I don’t know what world I will be writing the next blog post in, but I hope it will be knowing that Americans voted to preserve what is ultimately on the ballot: democracy itself.
